I WRITE to applaud the pure genius of the vision expressed by Ian Wells (Your Letters, February 27).
A pedestrianised square is exactly what Church Street needs - a place to congregate and cogitate and admire the view!
By all means have a streamlined orangery/restaurant at street level if you must - single storey of course.
