CENTURIES from James Pipe and Dominic Williamson could not prevent Worcestershire from a four-wicket defeat in their Second XI Championship clash with Yorkshire at Scarborough.

The pair shared a fifth-wicket stand of 164 as the County declared their second innings on 317-5, Pipe hitting 18 fours in his 108 and former Leicestershire player Williamson striking 22 boundaries in an unbeaten 128.

Yorkshire were set of 310 to win in 66 overs, and paceman Kabir Ali struck two early blows to leave them 26-2.

But they recovered through Vic Craven (73) and John Sadler (71) to reach their target for the loss of six wickets with 17 balls to spare.
