WORCESTERSHIRE pace bowler Kabir Ali eventually ended Michael Hussey's innings for 170 -- leaving the Frizzell County Championship Division Two game at Northampton drifting towards a high-scoring draw .

At the close last night Northamptonshire 380 for two, still 144 behind Worcestershire's first innings total.

Only 32 overs were possible because of rain yesterday, with play not resuming until 4.30pm, and it appeared Hussey's record-breaking partnership with Mal Loye was set to continue.

In reply to Worcestershire's first innings total of 524 for eight declared, the pair had put on 254 -- and they added a further 46 before Loye was caught by Graeme Hick off spinner Gareth Batty for 139.

Hussey continued with Russell Warren, who finished the day unbeaten on 49 from 80 deliveries, including seven fours and a six.

The pair had pushed Northants' total on to 374, a partnership of 84, when Hussey was caught by Batty off Kabir.
