TRIALIST paceman Steve Ellis was the pick of Worcestershire's bowlers on the opening day of their Second Eleven Championship match against Glamorgan at Abergavenny .

He grabbed 5-58 to help dismiss Glamorgan for 356 in 92.5 overs after they had been put in by County captain Nick Boulton.

Leading scorer for the home side was Jonathan Hughes who cracked 85 which included 14 fours off 133 balls.

He put on 150 for the fourth wicket with Mark Wallace who made 66 which contained six fours off 96 deliveries. By the close last night the County's reply stood at 26-0 off nine overs.
