Arthur Moore, Upper Howsell, was summoned for leaving his horse unattended in Worcester Road, Malvern Link. The animal, after waiting some time, started off. The defendant admitted the offence and said the horse was 22 years of age and it was not very fierce. (Laughter.) Major Hill said it was a first offence, so he would be let off with a fine of 2s 6d. The body of an unknown woman, about 45 years of age, was found on a beach at Hove, Brighton, yesterday. The clothing worn by the woman was marked "Ward" and a letter was found in her pocket bearing her full name and an address in Ledbury. The police authorities at Brighton telegraphed Supt Phillips of Ledbury, who has been in correspondence with them since. Ledbury Free Press, February 2, 1904.

Malvern Library Committee on Monday were asked to consider setting up a museum sub-committee so that a 'living museum' could be created. The suggestion was made by Coun J K Clarke, who said he thought more could be done to make the town's museum of greater general interest. He also wanted to see famous men associated with Malvern commemorated. Malvern Gazette, January 29, 1954.

Entering Ledbury's Parish Church in the dim light of last Saturday morning, the verger, Mr F Tovey, saw what at first looked like a parrot on the carpet in front of the altar in St Anne's Chapel. Switching on the lights, he discovered it was a colourful green woodpecker, which had entered the church, from the bleak conditions outside. Ledbury Reporter, February 5, 1954.

The "horrible gap" left in Church Street, Malvern, since the demolition of the Fermor Arms and other premises next door should disappear later this year. A Yorkshire development firm, which has bought the site for an undisclosed sum, plans to start redevelopment in the next three months, providing four shop units. Malvern Gazette, February 1, 1979.

People who bought new houses in Jubilee Close should have been well aware that the triangular piece of land in front of the houses was to become a children's play area, says one resident, who was prompted to write to Ledbury Rural Parish, after reading objections in the press.
