BROMSGROVE Rovers boss George Rooney is looking for more battling qualities from his side at Ilkeston Town tomorrow in the Dr Martens Western Division (3pm).

Rovers recovered from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with in-form Team Bath, inspired by new signing Mark Bellingham and Grant Beckett who was returning from suspension.

Rooney said: "It was a good game and I don't think anyone gave us a chance at 3-1 down but we did really well to peg them back.

"It was a game played at a cracking pace and they are in the middle of a magnificent run, but Mark and Grant both had a tremendous impact for us."

Bellingham can only play midweek matches due to work and is unavailable tomorrow, but Rovers are hoping to have defender Steve Pope back after he missed Tuesday's game with a calf strain.

Rovers face a different sort of challenge tomorrow at an Ilkeston side managed by former Hereford United and Worcester City striker Phil Stant.

Rooney added: "I watched them play Rugby recently and they are playing quite a rigid system. Phil is bringing some of his league experience to bear on the squad and they are looking for a one-step promotion like us.

"We might tamper with our shape a little bit to keep us competitive."
