POLICE are appealing for information after a scout hut in Bewdley was hit by thieves.
Two gas bottles were taken in the theft, during which the roof of the hut was damaged, leaving water leaking in.
The incident took place between 8pm on Wednesday, January 14 and Saturday, January 17. Police have just released details of the theft.
The Bewdley scout hut break-in took place during the same week as a similar incident in Stourport.
During the burglary at the Europa Venture Scout Unit's headquarters in Stourport's Memorial Park, on Friday, January 16, a tent and groundsheet were taken, although the items were dropped before the thieves made their getaway on scooters.
Wooden panels were also pulled off the Stourport scout hut wall by the burglars. The Stourport base has been a regular target for vandals.
Planning permission to build a new hut on the same site was recently secured, following discussions about possibly relocating it.
Anyone who has information regarding either incident is asked to contact police on 08457 444888.
For the Bewdley burglary, callers can ask for PC Brian Clarke.
They can also ring the Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
