PROLIFIC goal-scorer Marc Edwards is the youngest player ever to be registered by Stourport Hockey Club's National League firsts.

The Midlands U-15s player and U-14s captain hopes to be selected for England youth at some point this year.

Edwards, of Kidderminster, captained Stourport's U-16s in the national indoor finals at the Glades earlier this month and won the National Plate with the U-15s in 2003, scoring two goals in the final.

The 14-year-old second team midfielder or attacker has prospered under the tuition of current Great Britain captain Craig Parnham and Pakistan international Imran Youssaf.

Stourport junior chairman Peter Terry said: "His ability and skill is recognised by his contemporaries and senior coaches alike within the club. Marc's future potential is very outstanding."
