A SPECIAL meeting has been set up to call for a parish poll on the controversial £1 million extension to St Laurence's Church in Alvechurch.
During the meeting at the village hall tonight, questions will be asked surrounding the building of The Ark, which will include a hall with seating for 100 people.
Parish councillors will call for a parish poll to take place and they want the views of villagers to be recorded for history.
Parish Council clerk Gill Lungley said: "Questions raised at the meeting will include ones like 'was the church right to sell off a field intended for burial space to finance it?'
"The parish poll has no legal power but it is hoped it will give villagers a democratic voice. And the church will know exactly how residents feel about it."
The meeting will begin at 7.15pm.
