MORE than 40 member and friends attended the January meeting. President Alison Warren welcomed everyone and gave details of future events.

Ipsley will be hosting the Redditch Group Meeting in April.

A team of Ipsley members will take part in a county quiz in February and Jenny Williams announced that the skittles team had again been successful in their latest match.

There will be a WI promotion in Redditch town centre on February 13.

Members were asked for their help in raising funds for the association Country Women of the World in celebration of their 75th anniversary.

It is hoped this will provide a clean water supply to some of the many people of the world who do not already have this.

It was suggested that a small amount of money given by members for each tap, washing machine, shower etc in their own homes would greatly swell funds.

Mrs Lesley Busher gave an excellent and informative talk on DNA and the fight against crime.

She explained how the DNA National Database is used and how a minute amount of matter can and does help in the solving of crimes.

The Competition Cup for 2003 was presented to Janet Cottrill and the Flower of the Month Rosebowl to Judith Scott. The January competition was won by Wendy Cruise and the flower of the month by Janet Cottrill.

The next meeting is at Woodfield Middle School on Wednesday, February 11, at 7.30pm when the speaker will be Pru Poretta with Lady Godiva - the true story.
