I READ the Alexandra Hospital has appointed a Patient Advice and Liaison officer (Advertiser, January 21), yet another admistrative post whilst waiting lists get even longer due to staff shortages and lack of funds.
I telephoned the Alex today to inquire about my wife's appointment with a physiotherapist to be told the waiting list is five months due to a lack of staff and a funding problem.
My wife is a nursing sister at the Alex and is off sick. She needs physiotherapy to help her to return to work.
The same people who want her to return to work are the same people who are making her wait for five months to see a physiotherapist.
Isn't it about time the health trust prioritised its spending to meet Government targets and reduce waiting lists instead of creating more admin posts.
