HOLOCAUST Memorial Day was marked in Redditch on Saturday with a large turnout at the Kingfisher Centre.
The day of remembrance not only marked the deaths of millions in the Nazi genocide but other atrocities and human rights abuses.
The Rev Andrew Smith, of St Stephen's and St George's Churches, led a procession with mayor Kieth Boyd-Carpenter from the town hall to the Kingfisher Centre before the service.
Children from Astwood Bank First School also sang during the service.
A memorial to the victims of the Holocaust was due to have been erected in Church Green before Saturday's event but it failed to gain planning permission last year.
