WHATEVER next? I have just read your article about the plan for a council "surcharge' on B&Bs and hotels in Worcester.
Does the council want Worcester to turn in to a ghost town? Does it not want any visitors? It has already increased car-parking charges in the city.
It obviously does not anyone to come shopping or visit here.
Now it wants to charge extra for the hotel rooms. Does the holiday business not already pay enough in business rates to cover the extra people "living" here?
As for having to pay extra for tourists litter, toilets and seating - aren't these problems inherent for the people of Worcester?
There is always litter around Worcester, even during the winter when there aren't many visitors.
I think that the council should look after the money it already receives and not spend it by wasting it on senseless things.
MRS G POSTANS,
Worcester.
