Cadbury 4, Droitwich Spa 4
Midland Combination
Division Two
DROITWICH threw away a match winning position in the last minute after coming back from two down.
After a slow start by Spa a combination of bad defending and good finishing saw Cadbury score twice in the first 30 minutes. But they hit back through a Andy Keenanan header.
Manager Kevin Blabbers half-time talk looked to have worked when two goals from Greg Thomas put Spa 3 - 2 up only for Cadbury to level against the run of play.
Centre-half Nick West restored Spa's lead when Andrew Pheasant provided his fourth assist of the match.
But they couldn't hold on in somewhat controversial circumstances when goalkeeper Simon Williams was adjudged to have carried the ball out of his 18 yard area.
It was a decision that resulted in the home side scoring direct from the resultant last minute free kick.
Spa: Williams, Colb, McGrillen, Sanders, West, Harris, Dufty, Charles, Pheasant, Keenanan, Thomas. Subs: Cleaver, Kirwan, Wise.
