Littleton (0) 2, Fairfield Villa (0) 0
Midland Combination Division One
FAIRFIELD'S hopes of moving into the top half of the table failed to materialise when they travelled to Evesham-based side Littleton who are in third place.
Villa were soon in trouble with the home side awarded a penalty after 10 minutes after the ball hit Ian Brown's arm as he tried to head the ball off the line. Paul Jones slotted the spot kick past Dave White.
Villa suffered two major blows with skipper Wayne Davies and striker Dean Smith both taken out of the game with injuries.
Littleton scored a fortunate second when a 55th minute Mathew Edwards corner sailed straight into the net.
Villa created very little but were solid in defence.
