SCHOOLCHILDREN will top the invitation list when Bromsgrove hosts the rugby World Cup next week.

The Finstall Park club currently expects to have the William Webb Ellis trophy from about 4pm to 8pm on Friday, February 6, although new details surrounding one the biggest events in their history are emerging all the time.

And officials want to share the opportunity to see the trophy, won by England in November, with as many people as possible, putting local schools first.

Club secretary Robin Davies said: "As far as national profile is concerned this is by far and away the biggest thing we have ever had.

"They (RFU) want us to develop a programme for us to invite all the schools. It's the idea of social inclusion and getting all the kids down to see what rugby is all about."

A large trailer containing inter-active computer games and kicking machines will be situated on the club's front car park while the trophy, amid heavy security, will be on display in a case.

The club has warned that parking - with a large crowd expected - will be at a premium both at the club and close to the ground.
