MALVERN Town extended their lead at the top of the West Midlands Premier Division table to six points, as Dean Roberts helped himself to a second succesive hat-trick in a 4-0 rout of lowly Smethwick last night.
Town opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Lee Hooper set up Roberts for the opening goal and Town's second followed seven minutes later, when a long ball from Andy Chalmers played in Luke Willetts who fired past a helpless goalkeeper.
Despite the impressive promptings of new signing Nathan Jukes in midfield, Town struggled to find the cohesion of recent performances and it wasn't until 10 minutes from time that they secured the points when Roberts headed home a Gordy Beauchamp cross.
It was their 100th goal in all competitive games this season and was quickly followed up when Roberts determined run and strike, registered his hat-trick in the 88th minute.
A Will Pedley strike 20 minutes from time gave Pershore Town a 1-0 win over Bromyard Town in the Wor-cester Royal Infirmary Cup.
