BROMSGROVE'S battling qualities came bubbling back to the surface to rescue the most unlikeliest of points in an absorbing Tuesday night encounter at the Victoria Ground.

As the pressure on the need to finish no lower than seventh to guarantee a spot in the new-look Premier Division next season grows, it was pleasing to see Rovers shrug off the weekend's disappointing defeat and finish up matching a Team Bath outfit which is surely one of the fittest, fastest and best footballing sides they are likely to face.

Rovers looked to have blown it when goals from Paul Tisdale (2) and Mike Gillingham put the visitors 3-1 up with 75 minutes gone, and this after the home side had led through a 31st minute Mark Benbow effort.

But a late and sprited surge saw Kevin Banner and Mark Bellingham, who had an impressive debut on moving from Sutton Coldfield, grab the goals to ensure Rovers gained a deserved point.

Rovers: Wyatt (6), Frost (6), Hillman (6), Hughes (6), Benton (6), Beckett (6), Jackson (6), Benbow (6), Szewczyk (6), Bellingham (7), Banner (6). Subs: Collins, Allen, Dawson, Sutton, Atkinson.

l Rovers will be away to Kidderminster Harriers in the semi-finals of the WFA Senior Cup if they beat Sutton Coldfield in their outstanding quarter-final tie.
