THE shining stars of a musical group are busy preparing for their latest fund-raising concert to help restore their rehearsal hall.

Colla Voce will perform hits from a variety of musicals from Chicago to West Side Story to help restore St Mary's Hall, Northfield Street, where the Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society rehearse.

"Extensive internal and external repairs need to be made to bring the building up to standard to allow members to rehearse for future productions in safety and comfort," said event organiser Gloria Chapman.

Several members of Colla Voce are also members of Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society and the group have performed across the Midlands and raised funds for a variety of good causes.

"They are absolutely superb and give a very polished performance," said Mrs Chapman.

"They are very versatile. They perform everything from the classics to the modern."

Their most prestigious concert to date was a performance at a variety show at the Theatre Royal, London.

Hits include All That Jazz from Chicago, Tonight from West Side Story and Macavity from Cats.

Stars of the concert include Paul Bellamy and Laura Synnuck who have starred in The Mikado and Kiss me Kate.

The concert takes place on Saturday, February 7, at the John Moore theatre, The King's School, Worcester.

The matinee will start at 2.30pm and the evening show at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the matinee will be at the reduced rate of £6 and are available by contacting Gloria Chapman on 01905 422317.
