AMATEUR photographers are being encouraged to get clicking and enter a wildlife photography competition.
The Wild in Worcester competition is a way of encouraging people to get out and about in the many parks and nature reserves within the Worcester city boundaries.
There will be cash prizes for the photographs, which can be of wild plants, animals, birds, landscapes or a combination of them all, and the winning pictures may also be used in promotional material.
The competition is being run by the City Council's rangers, who want to encourage everyone to venture into the "green open spaces" in the Faithful City.
"Judges will be looking for images that best demonstrate the co-existence of nature and the built environment in the city," said ranger Richard Clarke.
Entries will be judged by members of the Camera Club prior to a Family Fun Day in Warndon Woodlands, Worcester, on Saturday, April 24.
Photos can be colour or monochrome and shot on film or with a digital camera and there will be three categories: Under 12s, 12 to 17 years old and 18 plus.
For more information, phone the rangers' desk on 01905 722328.
