A MUCH-USED Worcester park is having a face-lift.
The King George V playing fields, in Brickfields, is undergoing a re-vamp thanks to community organisations and some hard-working volunteers.
A partnership of environmental charity Duckworth Worcestershire Trust, the Safer Worcester Partnership, Worcester City Council and nearby community is working at making access easier.
Work is focusing on reclaiming an alleyway that links the park to Sycamore Road, including clearing away the over-growth, laying a hedge and building steps.
"It needed tidying up," said Allan Poyner, Worcester City Council's community worker.
"It was difficult to get into the park because it was overgrown. This is very much a young peoples' project," he added.
