COLOURFUL dragons and traditional Chinese music helped to bring an oriental flavour to a Worcester school.
A range of creative activities at Ronkswood Junior School in St Albans Close welcomed in the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
And from studying traditional music to creating paintings and mobiles, children from Year 3 and 4 made sure they had bundles of Far East fun.
Lower school co-ordinator Angela Riddle said both staff and pupils had an "enjoyable fun-filled week."
"We've produced Chinese dragons, New Year cards and envelopes, so we've really captured the excitement of the New Year," said Miss Riddle.
"The children also found out how to write their names in Chinese and learnt about Chinese religion, art and traditional dance. Most of them discovered they were born in the year of the dog and pig."
It is believed anyone born in the Year of the Monkey is very intelligent, well liked by everyone, and will have success in any field they choose.
