THE longest serving Evening News delivery driver has retired at the age of 70.
Barbara Price, from Rainbow Hill, Worcester, delivered her last paper on Saturday after almost three decades of working for the paper.
She said that she has thoroughly enjoyed 28 years at the Evening News, especially considering she only intended the job to be temporary.
"I saw an advert and thought that will do me until I can get a full time job, and I've been here ever since," she said.
Each day Mrs Price drove to Malvern to deliver papers to local shops.
She confessed she thought she would miss the job and the people she had met.
"You meet different people and make lots of friends," she said.
"A woman told me she used to take her daughter to school when I started work, now she's taking hers."
Mrs Price said she is now looking forward to having the opportunity to put her feet up and relax.
She might miss work, but she has plenty of other things to do.
"I don't think I'll be bored as I have four grandchildren to keep me busy," she said.
