DIRECTOR of football Jan Molby has dropped a strong hint that he wants to carry on being in charge of Kidderminster Harriers next season.

When the former Liverpool star took over from sacked Ian Britton in October it was on the understanding he would stay until the end of the current campaign.

"I'm not looking for anything else. I'm happy here. I think we are capable of building a good side again," said Molby, who during his first spell in charge of Kidderminster took them into the Football League.

He had a seven month stint in the 'hot-seat' at Hull City before being dismissed, but returned to Aggborough along with his assistant Gary Barnett following Harriers poor start to the season.

Molby said: "We were of the understanding when I shook hands with the Board that we'd take it through to the end of the season.

"There are one or two issues we have to deal with and mine is, as far as I'm concerned, not the important one.

"There are 15 players out of contract at the end of the season and that is not always ideal because that can cause unrest and that's obviously the last thing we want to do.

"If I'm not going to be here next season I don't want to be making decisions on players futures. If it's not me dealing with the players then let the Board deal with them one way or another.

"But first and foremost the Board have to make me an offer. I'm not on about a financial offer, but obviously an offer to stay on beyond this season.

"There are just one or two things I've noticed while I've been here that in an ideal world we'd like to change. But in terms of managing at this level it's as good as you get. They let you get on with the job. So in terms of that I have no complaints. I can't see it being a massive problem because I enjoy being back in football."

Molby believes the quicker Harriers secure their future --before today's game at Bury they were eight points off the relegation zone -- the quicker he can make plans for another season in the Nationwide League Third Division.

He said: "I think we are capable of building a good squad again so by the time we kick off next season, if we are still here, we can have a go.

"We know what's in our reach and every season our aim should be at least the play-offs. A play-off chase at the end of a season creates great excitement and people look forward to it."

Former Kidderminster boss Ian Britton has been linked with the vacant manager's job at nationwide Conference club Forest Green Rovers. Britton has been helping out at Midland Alliance outfit Stratford Town.
