WORCESTER Wolves travelled to London for their second National Basketball League Division Two game within 24 hours to play fourth-placed Westminster Warriors and won 96-83 yesterday.

Wolves were without Rikki Prince who was replaced by Rhys Hocking.

Josh Cooprider received close attention following his impressive points haul in the previous game against Westminster. Dave Jones capitalised on the overplaying of Cooprider by the Warriors defence by scoring three, three pointers in the opening quarter. Wolves edged into a 23-19 lead in the first period.

Westminster responded strongly in the second spell with Codogan scoring effectively.

Meanwhile, Jones continued to score from long range for Worcester. The introduction of Keith Jarrett brought a new dimension to Wolves play and Ty Shaw continued to battle with the London forwards.

At the end of the first half the teams were deadlocked at 40 points each.

The start of the second half saw Cooprider break free from the shackles of the close marking and score some crucial baskets for Wolves. Wayne Robinson controlled the offensive play and found Jarrett, Shaw and Jones in space. Rick Solvason came back into the game and used his experience to strengthen Wolves onslaught. They won the third quarter by 30-13 and stretched the lead to 70-53.

The final quarter saw Westminster come back at the Wolves again, yet Robinson controlled the play at point guard while Jarrett and Shaw dominated the backboards.
