BOSS Dave Titterton was ordered from the dug-out as Stourport Swifts slumped to a 3-1 Dr Martens Western Division defeat at Mangotsfield United.

The Swifts manager was left incensed by the referee ignoring claims for two penalties early in the second half - a handball and a foul on substitute John Hayward.

Titterton carried on his tirade after the final whistle, with Andy Wright's consolation doing little to appease his manager, and he could face a lengthy touch-line ban for his outburst.

Kerry Giddings had an excellent chance to open the scoring for Swifts on Saturday but fired over from in front of goal.

And this was to prove costly as Mangotsfield opened the scoring 10 minutes before the break when a poor clearance from keeper Lee Evans fell to United's Adam Sims.

The midfielder squared to Danny Haines who netted with a glorious long-range strike.

Jack Pitcher rose to head a second for Mangotsfield three minutes into the second half minutes before Titterton saw red.

Rob Taylor then sent a shot crashing against the upright before Wright gave the Swifts hope with a fine volleyed goal just five minutes after coming off the bench.

But hopes of a fightback were forgotten two minutes from time when a Darren Edwards effort was deflected over his own line by defender Steve Ulfig.

The result means Swifts have managed just one win from their last seven games with a top-half finish looking more and more like a distant dream.
