A CLEVER piece of equipment that can diagnose problems with car engines has been stolen in Worcester.

The £3,500 Sykes Pickevent servicing kit is in a black case and was taken from a Mitsubishi L200 car in Helford Close in the Ronkswood area of the city.

The theft took place between 10.30pm on Wednesday and 8am the next day.

"The owner of the equipment believes that it is useless to anyone other than a qualified user", said a police spokesman.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who is offered the kit is asked to call Worcester police on 08457 444 888, quoting crime reference number, 39C/150104.
