ADRIAN Olver has been sent to Coventry on a one-month loan deal.

Worcester Rugby Club's prop, who has struggled to get a game at Sixways this season, is likely to play some part in the National One clash with Exeter Chiefs today.

Olver was loaned out earlier in the season to Premiership big boys Gloucester and, with him now the fourth choice prop at Worcester, he is unlikely to get game time with everybody fit.

Olver, though, is hoping that his Worcester team-mates can do the business in today's promotion showdown at Orrell and believes the new game-plan will pay dividends at Edge Hall Road.

"It's a different game-plan this season and it has worked really well," said Olver. "Obviously we have a better foundation this season where the pack are really pushing teams off the park. The training is based more around power and the boys are certainly stronger.

"I think that will pay dividends today at Orrell. It's going to be a tight game because they are both quality sides but Worcester have the edge in the pack. I think they'll take Orrell on up front and they'll look to dominate."

Olver fully understands the position of coaches John Brain and Andy Keast with props Tony Windo, Neil Lyman and Lee Fortey part of a winning team week in, week out.

"I understand that they are not going to change a winning team and why should they?" added Olver. "It's frustrating of course for me as a player and at least at Coventry I should get some time on the pitch."

Olver, however, will not be linking up with former Worcester team-mate Martin Morgan. The Welsh lock, who was on a short-term deal at Coundon Road, has made the switch to Penzance & Newlyn.

Meanwhile, Brain is sure that Drew Hickey will get an earful from the Orrell supporters today on his return to Edge Hall Road.

The number eight, who made the switch from the Wigan club to Worcester in the summer, was accused by Orrell supporters of leaving for the money.

However, 14 games into the National One season, and it is Hickey and Worcester who top the table and Brain believes that his summer recruit made the right choice.

"I'm sure he'll get a bit of stick," said Brain. "He made a career decision and if you ask him, before today's game, he would say he made the right one."
