STUDENTS of Turners Tae Kwon Do, who train at the Upton Hill Community Centre, celebrated a double victory after taking medals at the recent AIMAA British championships and GTI British championships.
These are two annual events which are attended by many skilled fighters from all over Britain.
For some Upton students, these were their first British championships, and all fought with enthusiasm.
The students train on Mondays and Sundays 6-7pm and Wednesdays 7-8pm.
Medal winners were: Katie Cairns (AIMAA champs: Silver, girls forms. GTI champs: Silver, girls sparring), Caine Turner (AIMAA champs: Bronze, men's black belt sparring. GTI champs: Silver, men's black belt sparring), Scott George (GTI champs: Silver, boys sparring), Minou Gorman-Rickard (AIMAA champs: Silver, women's black belt sparring); front row, Lindsey Goodman (AIMAA champs: Bronze, girls forms. GTI champs: Gold, girls forms and Bronze, girls sparring) and Will Astill (AIMAA champs: gold, boys forms).
