RESIDENTS fighting plans for a Vodafone mast in Upper Welland hope to be given more time to look into alternatives.
The application, for land off Watery Lane, is due before Malvern Hills District Council planners on Wednesday and officers have recommended that it is approved.
But campaigners want the application to be deferred so the possibility of 'mast-sharing' can be explored further.
MP Sir Michael Spicer wrote to Vodafone last month to suggest that it used a mast at the Three Counties Showground instead of erecting a new one. He has received a reply saying the company would need to research the idea further.
Sir Michael has now written to Chris Bocock, chief executive of MHDC, asking for the application to be deferred.
