CRAFTY folk will be flocking to a new event at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern.

The Midland Needles and Crafts Show runs from January 23-25 and promises to feature everything from sewing machines to a demonstration of teabag folding.

It will focus mainly on needlecraft, including cross-stitch, embroidery, beading and quilting but there will also be an opportunity to see demonstrations of other crafts by companies such as Ledbury's Rag Art.

Around 100 exhibitors will be taking part including needlecraft specialists R&R Enterprises and stencils from Diane Dorward, both from Malvern. A number of craft societies, such as Malvern Embroiderers, will exhibit their work.

The chairman of Malvern Embroiderers, Jill Ewence said members of the group were looking forward to the show.

She said: "We hope to share what goes on in Malvern and if we get some new members, it would be nice."

Visitors can expect to see products from all over the country, including scrapbook materials from Cheshire's Creative Memories and glass art from Designit UK of Glasgow The show will be open from 10am to 5pm. sTickets are £6 for adults (£4.50 concessions), on 01827 69666.
