ONE man was killed and a second taken to hospital after a head-on collision between two cars on a motorway service road.
A blue Fiat Punto and a green Rover 620, travelling in opposite directions, collided at around 6pm last night, near the northbound Strensham Services, just off Junction 8 of the M5.
An ambulance, three fire crews - from Upton, Pershore and Tewkesbury - and Worcester police officers were called to the scene.
Firefighters cut the driver of the Punto from the wreckage and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem and formal identification are expected to take place later today.
The driver of the Rover was taken to the A&E department of Worcester Royal and later released.
Police are appealing to witnesses to the collision to call them on 08457 444888, quoting 166C/150104.
