A DROITWICH charity is appealing for local residents to come forward with ideas on how to spend its money.

Trustees of Droitwich United Charities are urging people to benefit from the group's work.

The group formed in 1912 from the bequests of 20 19th Century leading citizens, and while it does not hold a big pot of cash, it has helped some worthy causes over the years.

It is most noted for handing out Christmas food parcels to the elderly, but has also helped provide transportation.

"While the charity's annual income only amounts to £250, we do have difficulty in finding people who need help," said clerk to the trustees, Graham Hope.

"We would like to let local people know that we are willing to help those in the town who are really struggling and are urging those people to get in touch with us."

All applications will be considered when the trustees meet again in February.
