THE father of Leah Betts, the teenager who died after taking ecstasy at her 18th birthday party, has been called in to speak to youngsters in Bidford about the dangers of drugs.

Paul Betts, who has become well known as a drugs awareness campaigner since the death of his daughter in 1995, will lead the meeting organised by Bidford Community Group and Stratford Parents and Drugs Committee.

The groups said that parents and youth workers had been concerned for years about drug use among young people in the village and this meeting would help by providing information and looking at ways to counteract the trend.

The meeting will be held at Bidford Primary School in Bramley Way on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

Admission is free but a collection will be taken at the end of the meeting.
