IN his latest leaflet Councillor Stephen Clee reminds us that parish councils are the backbone of our society, that the members do an enormous amount of good for their local communities and that the Wyre Forest Conservative group fully support them.
I was, therefore, very surprised and disappointed to read in the Shuttle/Times & News that despite English Heritage, Bewdley Civic Society, neighbours and Bewdley Town Council objecting to the demolition of the remains of a listed summer house in Bewdley for a new dwelling which was considered to be out of keeping with the conservation area, Councillor Clee, at the Wyre Forest planning (development control) committee meeting, moved that the application be approved.
He was supported by Councillor Fran Oborski, a district councillor for Kidderminster, who appears to be an authority on the development of Bewdley over the centuries.
