POLICE are appealing for a woman to come forward who may have vital information on an assault which left a teenage girl needing reconstructive surgery.

A 24-year-old woman has been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries on the incident, which took place outside the Victoria Wine shop on Comberton Hill on Friday, December 19.

The 17-year-old victim suffered head and facial injuries and was treated at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and now needs further reconstructive surgery.

DC Lee Irvine, who is leading the investigation, urged anyone with information to contact him on 08457 444888.

He said: "We received a number of calls about this incident and I am particularly keen to speak to a woman who called us on the evening and need her to get in touch again.

"I would also like to hear from anyone else who may have been in the area and witnessed the assault."
