CHESS: Skipper Maurice Bissell drew his game but Worcestershire lost 11-5 at Staffordshire in a gruelling five-hour match.
Kidderminster's Bissell was on board six at Stafford as the county remained level with their opponents for much of the match.
But the final hour proved decisive as Staffordshire triumphed with another Wyre Forest man, Mark Riley, losing on board 14.
Bissell has served Kidderminster as secretary since 1983 and combines the role with his commitments captaining Worcestershire and being general secretary.
