A NEW 2004 tourism guide has been launched to help Wyre Forest visitors and residents enjoy the attractions the area has to offer.

The brochure, produced by Worcestershire County Council, is colour coded and lists all the county's attractions and accommodation. There is also a map of key county features with contact numbers for local tourism information centres.

There are 15 Wyre Forest attractions featured in the guide, including the Severn Valley Railway, West Midlands Safari Park, Kingsford Forest Park, Stourport Sports Centre and Harvington Hall as well as 19 premises offering accommodation.

Kathryn Wagstaff, Worcestershire County Council tourism officer, said: "In the guide there is truly something to suit every visitor. We are all really proud of what the county has to offer and hope we have done Worcestershire justice."

Councillor Alwyn Davies, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member with responsibility for economic development and regeneration, added: "Tourism plays a vital role in our local economy and supports a wide variety of jobs and businesses.

"As part of our commitment to boosting business in Worcestershire we are determined to offer our support and practical help to tourism in the county."

The guide is available from the county council as well as tourism information centres, libraries and public buildings throughout Worcestershire.
