RAMBLERS were walking in a Worcestershire winter wonderland yesterday as the countryside was covered with a light sprinkling of snow.

Motorists took extra care on the area's roads as temperatures dropped below freezing and the snow settled before turning to rain later in the morning.

Evening News weatherman Paul Damari was flooded with calls from residents concerned that the snow might increase worse.

He said it was not unusual weather for the time of year - and that people should expect more of the same in the high areas over the next few days, with temperatures around 6-8C (42-46F).
