A WEBHEATH woman who died when her car collided with a lorry has been described by her husband as "a beautiful person who could never be replaced".

Hazel Murray, 42, of Boxnott Close, was on her way home from work at Halfords' headquarters at 3pm on Friday when her Rover 416 was involved in the crash with the Ford Iveco lorry and a Royal Mail transit van.

Her husband Paul, 45, yesterday paid tribute to his wife and gave thanks for the support the family had received since the tragedy.

The couple, who have a nine-year-old son, Dale, met as teenagers at a disco at the Valley Stadium.

Mr Murray, who works for British Aluminium in Studley Road, said: "Hazel was a rock.

"Everything she did was fantastic and things will never be the same without her.

"She was just a beautiful person who could never be replaced."

Mrs Murray's funeral takes place at Redditch Crematorium at 3pm on Monday.

Mr Murray said: "Everyone has been smashing and I would like to thank them for all their support and all the cards we have received. It has really helped.

"Also thank you to our police liaison officer, Andy Saunders, and the staff at the A&E department at the Alexandra Hospital."

The family was already facing upset as Saturday marks the first anniversary of Paul's brother's death in another road accident.

Peter Murray, 41, was hit by a van as he was walking home from a boxing match.

Redditch police are appealing for witnesses to Friday's accident and inquiries are continuing.

A police spokesman said: "It is believed the Rover exited from Bartleet Road onto Icknield Street Drive.

"The goods vehicle collided with the offside and overturned the Rover, trapping the driver.

"Both vehicles then collided with the Royal Mail transit van."

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called and the road was closed until 6.25pm.

Mrs Murray was pronounced dead at the scene.
