BROMSGROVE is to host a special exhibition to commemorate the UK's fourth annual Holocaust Memorial Day, which will be held on Tuesday, January 27.

The exhibition, Another Time - Another Place, will be on display at Bromsgrove's Birmingham Road museum. It tells the story of the Holocaust as seen through the eyes of a 12-year-old girl, combining personal tragedy with historical facts.

District council chairman, Councillor John Tidmarsh, (Con-Stoke Prior) will officially launch the exhibition at a special ceremony at 3.30pm on Monday, January 26. It will be open to the public from January 27-29 from 10am-4.30pm.

Cllr Tidmarsh said: "Holocaust Memorial Day marks the liberation of the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz in 1945. It also has more far reaching aims to encompass other crimes against humanity, including the atrocities in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Kosovo.

"It is important to ensure that crimes against humanity are never forgotten and that the relevance of them for each new generation is understood."

It is hoped local schools will visit the exhibition supporting the day's theme - From the Holocaust to Rwanda; lessons learned, lessons still to learn.

Admission to the exhibition is free. More information can be obtained from the museum on 01527 831809.
