AT our first meeting of 2004, we welcomed Sally Wilding FCA, a fellow soroptimist from the Central Birmingham club.

Sally is a chartered accountant whose business is corporate management training - the dynamics of business.

She discussed people's personalities and how they get on together. She believes that there are four main categories that make up people's characters. There are those who are producers and doers, administrators or entrepreneurs with great ideas and those who are integrators.

Very few people fall totally into one category but most people probably exhibit some part of each in their lifestyle.

No one person is perfect but in business, by working together as a team, great results can be achieved. So whatever projects, clubs, businesses or families undertake, it is vital that we never forget to have some fun.

After this very enjoyable and inspiring talk, we continued our club business. The coming months are filled with activities where our club members are invited to join fellow soroptimists around the Midlands Arden region. We welcomed two prospective and two new members. We will be supporting the public speaking contest for young people, set up by MAR, and we are sponsoring a student from Trinity High School in Redditch. Sadly, one of our senior members, Mary Wormington, died recently. She will be greatly missed.
