WHAT better way to see in the New Year than with a whopping dose of first class comedy, courtesy of The Glee Club?, writes Emily Bridgewater.

Packing the punch lines were four fresh-faced comedians who ensured the sell-out audience laughed their socks off all the way through 'til the chimes of Big Ben.

Compere JoJo Smith kicked off the show, building a good rapport with the audience and ensuring the other acts, Noel James, Jo Enright and Glenn Wool enjoyed an enthusiastic welcome.

The hilarious Jo Enright was my favourite. Fellow Brummies were in stitches with her observations of life in the Midlands.

Midnight appeared too soon, the curtain came down on the comedy and party people were invited to dance until dawn - a great night and well worth the £25 ticket.

And for those looking to banish the winter blues there is an excellent forthcoming line up at The Glee Club, in Birmingham's Arcadian Centre. Log on to www.glee.co.uk or call 0870 241 5093.
