Kings Norton 21
Veseyans 8
Straight from the kick off, unbeaten Veseyans were rocked by the intensity of the home side's attack and fell behind to an excellent corner flag touchdown by scrum half John Hefford.
The move began straight from the start when Mark Waudby charged down and gathered a clearance kick out by the visitors full back.
Norton's No 8 made ground and fed the Kings Norton attack who spun the ball wide.
Full back Nick Thompson entered the line at speed and drew a surprised defence before providing his winger with a beautifully timed pass for Hefford to crash through and score. Intense pressure continued from the home side and skipper Pete May extended the lead with a penalty after 11 minutes.
Veseyans hit back with a try but the home side regained the lead on the stroke of half time with another May penalty.
In a tense second half, Hefford cleverly chipped a ball through an opening to score an unconverted try with three minutes left on the clock and there was still time for prop Richard Revell to touch down.
