Rugby St Andrew's 23
Alcester 24
Alcester gained a crucial Warwickshire Division 1 double over Rugby St Andrew's.
The victory extended the club's winning run to five matches.
Centre Matt Gwynn converted the first of his penalty opportunities to put his side in front.
The lead didn't last long, however, as the home pack got an incisive rolling maul over the Alcester try line.
Gwynn reduced the deficit with another well-struck penalty kick.
St Andrews did extend their lead early in the second half.
A further exchange of penalties left the home side 13-9 up.
But it was full back Chris Hall who opened his side's try-scoring account.
The game threatened to boil over as a St Andrew's lock was red-carded.
Alcester took advantage and launched a counter attack which was finshed by winger Owen Phillips. Gwynn converted.
No. 8 Weaver ended the game in the sin bin and with the playing numbers even, the home side grabbed an unconverted try but Alcester held on for victory.
