FAIRFIELD Villa were outclassed by second place Pilkington XXX in a home defeat last Saturday.

Villa, beaten 3-1 by Barnt Green Spartak in their last league game, made all the early running before the visitors gradually took over.

But manager Neil Gallagher, who saw his side narrowly lose out 2-1 to Feckenham in the Smedley Crooke Cup last Wednesday, said: "I think it just caught up with on Saturday."

Pilkington broke the deadlock ten minutes from the interval.

Villa were quick out of the blocks after the break but went 2-0 behind when Neill Tinkler headed past his own goalkeeper, Dave White. Palmer got Pilkington's third on 75 minutes and Jordan completed the scoring five minutes from time.

Villa hope to sign ultility player Colin Jones, once with Alvechurch, and forward Wayne Ashford this week.
