Littleton 3,

Malvern Town Res 4 (aet)

FOR the first time for several years, Littleton won't be contesting a cup final this season after Saturday's Evesham Hospital Cup semi-final reverse.

The losers, however, have only themselves to blame as they missed a succession of chances and, every time they got themselves back into the game, they managed to give away a goal.

Malvern were a young side who worked hard for each other and took full advantage of home mistakes to record an unexpected victory.

The visitors opened the scoring after 27 minutes when a cross from the left was missed by the defence and Hughes converted easily.

Littleton went close through Simon Brain and Matt Staley before the equaliser arrived five minutes into the second half when Danny Harris turned in a cross from Stuart Sollis.

Malvern hit back immediately as a clearance from Burrows struck an attacker and rebounded into the empty goal.

For the remainder of the half Littleton attacked but Malvern hung on and it took a last-gasp strike from Perry Beddoes to take the game into extra time.

Again Malvern took the lead, again Beddoes equalised until the final goal came ten minutes from time to seal Littleton's fate.
