THE club waters at Great Alne were in the finest condition for many months making the first Needles Winter League match a good start to the new year for the 16 club members.
The winner was club stalwart Barry Feldhahn with an excellent weight of 14lbs 8ozs of mainly bream taken from peg 14 using pole fished worm.
In second place was Bob Allen with a bag of chub and dace weighing 7lbs 4ozs from peg 2 taken on pole fished maggot.
Third place was Neil Clee with 5lb 2ozs consisting of a barbel and a few chub taken from peg 16 using pole fished caster.
The club reminds Needles members that the annual meeting will be held tonight (Wednesaday) at The Mother Huffcap, Great Alne starting at 8.00pm.
There are a number of important issues to be discussed at the meeting so club members are asked to make every effort to attend.
