GENEROUS fund-raisers have been digging deep into their pockets to help Acorns raise the cash it needs to build a £4m hospice for life-limited youngsters in Worcester.

Now they are well on the way to achieving the final million pounds.

The money will pay for Worcestershire's first Acorns children's hospice, providing care for life-limited children, as well as vital support for their families.

The building has already begun.

Last Friday, the foundation stone of the new hospice, which will help more than 250 life-limited youngsters from Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and Gloucestershire, was laid and the building is expected to be finished by the end of the year.

Built in Bath Road, near the city centre, it will also house a hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory rooms, and family rooms as well as facilities for young children and teenagers.
