Pershore III 3,

Old Wulfs III 0

PERSHORE extended their unbeaten run in their first outing since Christmas.

They put pressure on the visiting defence from the start, but were unable to create any good chances until 20 minutes into the game when Rob Handley spotted a gap in the goal and slotted the ball confidently into the net.

With cousin Anthony tormenting the left side of the visitors' rearguard, further oppor- tunities were created but Pershore were unable to extend their lead before half-time.

Indeed, they were grateful to Ben Wright in goal for some excellent saves to preserve their lead.

Wulfs came more into the game in the second half, but failed to trouble the experienced defence and it was Pershore who doubled their lead with Anthony Handley stylishly completing a fine move initiated by Pete Moreby and involving Chris Doughty and Powell.

Pershore now began to play a more expansive game and it was no surprise when Iain Rushin crashed home a first-time shot from a Mike Handley free- hit.

The win gives the team the opportunity to build on the improvement shown during the early part of the season when they resume league action against Aldridge this weekend.
